On Sunday, September 15, 2024, the Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, commenced the loading of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

A fleet of trucks from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was spotted at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry, marking the start of operations.

Videos shared on the Dangote Group’s X (formerly Twitter) account showed the first set of trucks ready for loading, with NNPC confirming that over 100 trucks had been deployed by Saturday, with hundreds more expected to arrive throughout the day.

This marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between NNPC and Dangote Refinery, aimed at addressing Nigeria’s fuel supply challenges. Further details are expected to follow.
