The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has confirmed the arrival of about 300 trucks at the Dangote Refinery in preparation for petrol loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
In a statement shared via X (formerly Twitter), NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, disclosed that the trucks are being stationed at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry in Ibeju-Lekki. “By the end of today, at least 300 trucks will be stationed at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry,” Soneye said.
This follows an earlier announcement by the NNPC that the first batch of petrol would be loaded from the refinery on Sunday. The deployment of over 100 trucks has been confirmed, with additional trucks en route to the refinery ahead of the scheduled loading.
Last week, Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group, announced the commencement of fuel production at the refinery, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector.
