David Sangokoya, a Nigerian Air Force officer, has been awarded the prestigious International Sword of Honour for 2023 at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell (RAFCC) in the United Kingdom. This recognition was given to Sangokoya as the Best International Cadet after completing the Modularised Initial Officers’ Training (MIOT) Course 22 from March to September 2023.
The award, presented by Prince William, the Prince of Wales, on behalf of King Charles III, is granted to the most outstanding international cadet among the award-winning international cadets of the year at the RAF College Cranwell, which graduates up to eight courses annually.
Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, congratulated Sangokoya, commending his dedication, focus, and hard work. He also acknowledged the support of Sangokoya’s family, noting that their encouragement was crucial to his success. This achievement is seen as a proud moment for the Nigerian Air Force and the nation as a whole.
