Renowned Nollywood filmmaker Shina Sanyaolu, known for his work in the Yoruba genre, has passed away.

The President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, confirmed his death, though details surrounding it remain unclear.

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko described Sanyaolu as a “remarkable man” whose kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on many lives. Kosoko recalled Sanyaolu’s unwavering support for the arts and his efforts in welcoming fellow Nigerians in the UK during the 1980s.

Shina Sanyaolu contributed to several notable productions, including “The Honourable,” “Two Wives,” and “Omo Olosan.”
