Popular English actress Alexandra Louise Bastian, known for her role in Hollyoaks, has revealed she has been diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. Bastian, 42, shared the news on her Instagram page on Monday, stating that she was diagnosed while still breastfeeding.
Describing the diagnosis as a “total shock,” Bastian explained, “I have mornings when I wake up and I’ve forgotten… and then suddenly I remember. I’m still trying to process it.” The actress is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will also have a single mastectomy and radiotherapy. She recounted her initial reaction, noting that “it wasn’t clearing up and the more I felt it, the more it felt like this wasn’t just a blocked duct.”
Despite the tough time, Bastian and her husband are focused on maintaining normalcy for their daughters. She remains optimistic about her future and hopes to return to acting soon.
