Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have reportedly invaded the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP). The incident occurred earlier today, with DSS officers allegedly demanding to see the directors of the rights group.
SERAP made the situation public through a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating, “Officers from Nigeria’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, asking to see our directors.”
The organization has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene immediately, urging him to direct the DSS to cease what they describe as harassment, intimidation, and an attack on the rights of Nigerians.
Further details about the incident are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
