The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved a new standardized uniform and kits for Supernumerary Police officers, commonly known as Spy Police. The move aims to enhance the professionalism and visibility of these officers and to prevent the misuse of regular police uniforms.
Represented by Deputy Inspector General of Police Bala Ciroma during the unveiling on Tuesday, Egbetokun ordered all police training schools to adopt the new uniform issuance model for Spy Police personnel. The redesign and standardization were carried out by Synveego Nigeria Limited, in line with the Police Act 2020, as part of efforts to revitalize SPY operations nationwide.
Organizations utilizing SPY Police personnel are required to adhere strictly to the new uniform standards. The Force Quartermaster and state personnel will oversee the registration and acquisition of these uniforms.
