Former Big Brother Naija star and two-time Nigerian high jump champion, Mike Edwards, has won his debut professional boxing match against Jake Cornish.
The fight took place at the Dublin Arena on Saturday, where Edwards emerged victorious by unanimous decision.
Edwards, who transitioned from athletics to professional boxing in April, competed in the Misfits Boxing Cruiserweight division, which is organized by English social media personality and professional boxer Olajide Williams, also known as KSI.
Misfits Boxing announced Edwards’ win on X.com, stating: “An impressive MFB debut for #aireyys as he gets the decision victory. Mike Edwards gets his first #MisfitsBoxing win.”
This victory marks a successful debut in Edwards’ new sporting career, following his previous accomplishments in high jumping.
