The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife were kidnapped by gunmen in Kogi State while en route to Abuja, Nigeria.
The incident, which also claimed the life of one of his aides, A. B. Affiah, occurred as the couple was traveling to attend the wedding ceremony of Adaora, the daughter of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, scheduled for Saturday.
Aghamba, along with his wife and the slain aide, were heading to the event when the tragedy struck. The kidnappers have not yet demanded a ransom for the couple’s release.
Aghamba and Soludo’s new in-law both hail from Onitsha. Authorities are expected to respond to this distressing situation as efforts to locate and rescue the kidnapped individuals intensify.
