Popular Tanzanian Bongo Flava singer, Mandojo, was tragically killed on Sunday, August 11, 2024, after being mistakenly identified as a thief.
The artiste, known for hit songs like “Nikupe” and “Dingi,” was beaten to death just days before his birthday.
Confirming the heartbreaking news, fellow musician Soggy Doggy expressed his grief on social media, writing, “My heart is in great pain, I will miss you very much, my brother and friend. Rest in peace, Mandojo. Surely, human life is very short on this earth. Sorry to all brothers, relatives, and friends. I’m very sorry, my brother @domokayatz, but God’s work has no mistakes.”
Another colleague, Domo Kaya, also paid tribute to Mandojo, reflecting on the upcoming birthday the singer will never celebrate. “Daaaah, MY SON, I don’t believe the 22nd of this month was supposed to be your birthday. Aisee, why! This is so sad. Rest in peace. May God give you eternal light, my friend and brother,” Kaya wrote in a poignant post.
Mandojo’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the music community, leaving fans and fellow artists mourning the loss of a talented musician whose life was cut tragically short.
