The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nigeria, Benneth Igweh, has initiated an investigation into the death of an unidentified cross-dresser whose body was discovered along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway in Abuja.
According to the FCT Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, a distress call was received on the morning of August 8, 2024, reporting that a person, initially identified as a lady, was found lying motionless on the expressway. A team of detectives was immediately sent to the scene. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the deceased was a man dressed in female clothing and had no identification on him.
The body was transported to Maitama District Hospital, where doctors confirmed the individual was deceased. CP Benneth Igweh has ordered a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
