Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Bobrisky regained his freedom around 10 am on Monday after serving a six-month prison sentence.

In April, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos, Nigeria, sentenced Bobrisky for Naira abuse. The judge, who sentenced the cross-dresser without an option of a fine, stated that the sentence was intended to serve as a lesson to others who abuse the Naira.

Bobrisky’s jail term began on March 24, coinciding with the day of his arrest. The sentence attracted widespread attention and sparked various reactions across social media.
