Nigerian Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has died.
The news was confirmed by Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Affairs, on Saturday morning.
Ubah, a prominent politician and businessman, passed away in London just two days after traveling there. He was the CEO of Capital Oil (CCO), which he founded in 2001.
Survived by his wife Uchenna, a Business Administration graduate from Ahmadu Bello University, and their five children, Ubah was also known for his philanthropic work through the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.
In September 2022, Ubah narrowly escaped an assassination attempt when gunmen attacked his convoy in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State, resulting in the deaths of at least five individuals, including two policemen. Ubah’s survival was attributed to his bulletproof vehicle.
