Hollywood’s elite have thrown their support behind Kamala Harris in her bid for the presidency, marking a significant shift in the political landscape. A star-studded lineup, including George Clooney, Cardi B, and Beyoncé, has rallied behind Harris, demonstrating renewed enthusiasm and mobilizing Democratic donors who had previously withdrawn their support due to Joe Biden’s reluctance to step aside.

“My phone is blowing up,” a source close to Harris’s campaign told CNN, describing the sudden surge in Hollywood interest. “I don’t even have time to answer my phone.”

The excitement in Hollywood for Harris is palpable, with many industry insiders expressing their enthusiasm. Preparations for Harris’s inaugural presidential fundraiser in Los Angeles are already underway, with numerous TV, film, and music executives stepping forward to host the event.

George Clooney, a prominent Democratic fundraiser, praised Biden’s decision to step aside as a display of “real leadership.” He told CNN, “He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest.”

Beyoncé has also shown her support by allowing Harris to use her song “Freedom” for the campaign. Harris’s team secured last-minute approval from Beyoncé’s management, adding a powerful anthem to her campaign. While Beyoncé has not made an official endorsement following Biden’s recent decision to step down, she supported the Biden-Harris ticket in 2020.

Singer Ariana Grande expressed her support shortly after Biden endorsed Harris, posting a photo of the two on her social media along with a link to register to vote. Cardi B, rallying behind Harris, defended her against critics questioning her qualifications based on her dating history. She excitedly wrote, “AHAHAHAHA LETS GOOOOO I TOLD YALLL KAMALA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE 2024 candidate.”

Model Christie Brinkley took to social media to voice her support, stating, “Kamala Harris for the people!! And we the people for Kamala Harris!! Sometimes the best person for the job is a WOMAN.”

British pop star Charli XCX tweeted, “Kamala IS brat,” describing her as “honest” and “blunt,” reflecting the persona in her album “brat.”

Barbra Streisand, in a statement to the New York Times, said, “President Biden and Vice President Harris ushered this nation out of the [Donald] Trump chaos. I’m so grateful to President Biden and so excited to support Kamala Harris. She will work to restore women’s reproductive freedom and continue with the accomplishments begun in the Biden-Harris administration.”

American singer John Legend also expressed his support, writing, “She’s ready for this fight and I’m excited to help her in any way I can.” Legend criticized Trump’s Project 2025 and voiced his commitment to voting for Harris.

In addition to these prominent figures, a host of other notable names are rallying behind Kamala Harris, the first-ever Indian-American elected as Vice President and now a leading Democratic presidential nominee. Supporters include Yvette Nicole Brown, Jessica Alba, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Disney heiress Abigail Disney, Bradley Whitford, and Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.
