Popular Nigerian actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande has strongly denied recent rumors linking her to a romantic relationship with Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The allegations, spread by controversial blogger Gistlover, included Dakore among other female celebrities purportedly involved with Akpabio.
In a series of posts on her Instagram, Dakore expressed her shock and outrage, stating, “I saw text messages and calls this morning, alerting me to a very wicked lie from the pit of hell. I must say that I’m very disappointed, shocked and appalled. And I want to categorically state that I have never met the Senate president in my life.”
She continued, “I have not had any cause to be in the same room with him, not to talk of being his side chick. I’m happily married with two beautiful children. So for a jobless, wicked blogger to decide to put my name amongst women who have been with this man is wicked and unfounded.”
Dakore further emphasized her intent to take legal action against those spreading false information, stating, “It is a lie and I am ready for any legal action because, at this point, you have messed with the wrong person.” She also offered a reward of ₦5 million for anyone providing video or audio evidence of her alleged involvement with Akpabio.
Her lawyer, through the firm Olisa Agbakoba Legal, has issued a “Cease and Desist” letter demanding that Gistlover remove the defamatory post and cease further slanderous remarks about Dakore.
