Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has made a significant claim about his transgender child, asserting that he was ‘tricked’ into allowing his son to transition to a woman.
Musk, who has had a contentious relationship with his daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson, previously disagreed with her over political views.
However, in a recent interview, Musk described the situation as ‘evil,’ stating that he was misled into signing documents for his son Xavier’s transition without fully understanding the implications.
Musk shared that during the COVID-19 pandemic, he was under pressure, being told that Xavier might commit suicide. Jordan Peterson, who interviewed Musk for the Daily Wire, supported Musk’s claim, arguing that depression and anxiety, not gender dysphoria, contribute to higher trans suicide rates.
Musk accused those promoting gender transition of deceit and equated puberty blockers to sterilization drugs. He expressed his loss, stating, “My son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.”
Vivian, born Xavier, legally changed her name and gender in 2022, and has since distanced herself from Musk, who has publicly criticized her political views. Despite Musk’s significant investment in her education and repeated attempts to reconcile, their relationship remains strained.
Musk’s comments highlight his belief in a broader cultural issue, which he has termed the ‘woke mind virus,’ and his determination to combat it. He has also recently shown increased political involvement, including significant financial support for a Super PAC backing Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
