American rapper Cardi B is facing a $50 million lawsuit for alleged copyright infringement, filed by two singers from Texas and Oklahoma. The lawsuit accuses Cardi B of using elements from their song in her track “Enough (Miami)” without permission.
The plaintiffs, Miguel Aguilar (known as Kemika 1956) and Joshua Fraustro (known as Sten Joddi), allege that Cardi B and her producers incorporated parts of their 2021 song “Greasy Frybread” into “Enough (Miami),” which scored top 10 hits following its release in March 2024.
According to lawsuit documents obtained by TMZ, the plaintiffs claim that “Greasy Frybread” was previously used as a promotional piece for the FX series “Reservation Dogs.”
The lawsuit also targets Atlantic Records, Warner Music Group, and producers OG Parker and DJ SwanQo as co-defendants. “Enough (Miami)” was released on March 15, 2024, about three years after “Greasy Frybread,” sparking the legal battle over alleged copyright infringement.
