American pop star Taylor Swift has reached a new milestone by becoming the most followed artiste in Spotify’s history, surpassing British singer Ed Sheeran. Swift’s followers on the platform have climbed to 114.6 million, breaking Sheeran’s record.
In addition to this achievement, Swift holds the record for the highest-grossing music tour in history. Her “Eras” tour, which grossed over $1 billion, surpassed Elton John’s five-year farewell tour, which generated $939 million (£749 million) across 328 shows.
Swift’s financial success extends beyond touring; in December 2023, she set a new Guinness World Record as the first musician to become a billionaire solely from music earnings.
