A tragic building collapse at 10 Cameroon Street in the Mushin area of Lagos, Nigeria on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, has reportedly left a child feared dead.

Seven other residents were rescued from the rubble by nearby sympathizers before official emergency services arrived.

The collapse occurred following heavy rainfall in Lagos, which has been experiencing significant downpours in recent days.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with residents rushing to save those trapped beneath the debris.

Despite calls to emergency services, the Lagos rescue team had not yet arrived at the scene by the time this report was filed.
