Wizkid’s Spotify streams have passed 12 billion across all credits, according to a fan statistics account, but independent tracking services show different totals. The claim, circulated on Monday, 26 October, includes songs where the Nigerian singer appears as a featured performer.

WizStatz described Wizkid as the first African artiste to reach the threshold. Its announcement was reproduced by music publication HypeTribe. The claim is not a Spotify certification, and the available tracker figures do not establish a common date for the milestone.

Kworb’s table, updated on 26 October, lists 11,662,604,942 streams across 238 tracks. That total is about 337.4 million below 12 billion. Its breakdown assigns approximately 3.47 billion streams to lead-artist credits and 8.19 billion to featured appearances.

Featured tracks therefore account for about 70 per cent of the total in that table. Solo recordings form a smaller category within the catalogue, with approximately 1.38 billion streams. The solo figure is not an additional amount to be added to the lead and featured totals.

One Dance is the largest contributor in Kworb’s list, with more than 4.53 billion streams. It added almost 1.5 million daily streams in that update. The original Essence with Tems has about 407.7 million, while the version featuring Justin Bieber and Tems has approximately 191.1 million. Come Closer, featuring Drake, stands at about 191.6 million.

ChartMasters records a different milestone history. Its Wizkid dashboard dates the 12-billion all-credits threshold to 18 September 2026. It also lists five billion lead streams and 1.3 billion streams for Made in Lagos as milestones reached on 19 October.

The services’ lead-artist figures differ substantially as well. ChartMasters lists more than five billion lead streams, compared with Kworb’s approximately 3.47 billion. Those figures cannot be treated as interchangeable measures, and the tables do not supply a reconciliation explaining the gap.

Spotify’s own guidance distinguishes song streams from release totals. A song or music-video play qualifies as a stream after at least 30 seconds. A release total adds the streams for its tracks, and a song appearing on several releases contributes to each release’s total.

That means adding album and single release totals together can count the same recording more than once. Spotify also says its Spotify for Artists total stream counts include recordings on which the user is credited as a main artiste or remixer. That dashboard measure is distinct from an external all-credits tally including featured appearances.

The platform records its statistics in Coordinated Universal Time. Streams from downloaded music are counted when the listener next goes online, which Spotify requires at least once every 30 days.

Streaming totals do not establish an artiste’s earnings. Spotify says it does not pay a fixed royalty for each play. Payments depend on a rights holder’s share of streams, while the amounts received by artistes and songwriters also depend on their agreements with labels, distributors and publishers.

ChartMasters’ historical table dates ten billion all-credits streams to 8 January and eleven billion to 24 May. Its later September entry for twelve billion predates the fan account’s October announcement by more than a month.
