The Nigeria Labour Congress has criticised the worsening socio-economic conditions in the country, stating that Nigerians are enduring hardship they never agreed to.
In its Easter message, the labour body expressed concern over rising poverty, insecurity, and what it described as failures in governance, urging leaders to adopt policies that prioritise the welfare of citizens.
The Congress called on those in authority to embrace sacrifice and responsible leadership, stressing that governance should serve the people rather than impose additional burdens on them.
It also urged Nigerians to reflect on the significance of the Easter season by remaining resilient and united, while continuing to demand accountability from leaders.
The NLC maintained that meaningful progress in the country would require collective action, solidarity, and sustained pressure for reforms that address the root causes of hardship.
