Senegal has rejected the Confederation of African Football’s decision to overturn the result of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final and award the title to Morocco.

The CAF Appeal Board ruled that Senegal forfeited the final after players briefly walked off the pitch in protest during the match, citing violations of tournament regulations.

The controversial decision changed the original outcome of the match, which Senegal had won 1–0 after extra time, to a 3–0 victory in favour of Morocco.

Senegal’s football federation strongly disagreed with the ruling, describing it as unacceptable and insisting that the decision lacks proper justification.

The federation confirmed it will take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, signalling the start of a legal battle over the final outcome of the tournament.

The dispute follows chaotic scenes during the final in Rabat, where Senegal players temporarily left the field after a controversial penalty decision before returning to complete the match.

The appeal is expected to determine whether the CAF ruling will stand or if Senegal could have the original result reinstated.
