The Presidency has dismissed reports alleging that there was an attempt to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the claims as false, misleading and without any factual basis. Officials said the story did not originate from any verified security or government source.

According to the Presidency, relevant security agencies reviewed the allegations and found no evidence to support claims of a poisoning attempt or any related threat to the president’s health or safety. It stressed that the president remains in good health and continues to carry out his official duties without interruption.

The Presidency warned against the spread of unverified information, noting that such rumours can cause unnecessary public anxiety and distract attention from governance and national priorities. It urged citizens and the media to rely on official statements and credible sources when dealing with sensitive national issues.

Government officials also reiterated that any genuine security threat to the president would be handled through established protocols and communicated appropriately to the public. They appealed for restraint and responsibility in public discourse, especially on matters concerning national leadership and security.
