North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, declaring he will “unconditionally support” all of Putin’s policies and decisions. This message, published by North Korean state media, underscores a significant deepening of the political and military alliance between the two nations, particularly in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

In the letter, Kim described his feelings of “true comradely relations” with Putin and called the ties between North Korea and Russia the “most precious.” He emphasized that his pledge of support was “constant and permanent” and that close cooperation would continue across multiple sectors.

The exchange comes amid reports from South Korean and Western intelligence that North Korea has supplied Russia with significant military aid, including artillery shells, missiles, and long-range rocket systems for use in Ukraine. Some reports also suggest North Korea may have sent thousands of troops to fight alongside Russian forces.

Analysts believe this support is part of a strategic partnership where Russia provides North Korea with financial assistance, military technology, food, and energy supplies in return. This alliance helps both nations counter international pressure and sanctions from Western countries.

Kim’s statement highlights how the geopolitical partnership has evolved into a firm mutual commitment. Both leaders also exchanged New Year’s messages, with Putin praising the “invincible friendship” between their countries.
