The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) suspended four senior national officers for one month over alleged anti-party activities, following an emergency meeting in Abuja on November 1.

The suspended officials are National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Organising Secretary Hon. Umar Bature, National Legal Adviser Kamal Deen Ajibade (SAN), and Deputy National Legal Adviser Barr. Okechukwu Osuoha.

During the suspension, the four officials are barred from performing their official duties, pending further investigation by the National Disciplinary Committee.

National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba said the decision followed a review of the party’s recent activities and conduct of some top officials.

He recalled a previous reprimand in August 2025 over anti-party activities and said these members breached sections of the PDP Constitution that prohibit conduct that could bring the party into disrepute, hatred, or contempt.

Ologunagba explained that anyone who breaches the constitution or engages in conduct likely to cause disaffection among members is liable to disciplinary action.

The NWC approved interim replacements: Deputy National Secretary Hon. Arch Setonji Koshedo will act as National Secretary.

The Director of Legal Services will oversee the offices of the Legal Adviser and Deputy Legal Adviser during their suspension.

The National Legal Adviser and Deputy Legal Adviser were referred to the National Disciplinary Committee, while the National Organising Secretary and National Secretary will face internal inquiries as per the party constitution.
