English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have submitted a €20 million bid to sign Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche from Spanish club Getafe.
The 22-year-old, known primarily for his dynamic midfield play, has also been described as a potential striker option as Wolves look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the bid on X, stating that negotiations between Wolves and Getafe are underway to finalize the deal.
Uche joined Getafe from Spanish side Ceuta last summer for a modest fee and quickly became a key player, registering four goals and six assists in 33 La Liga appearances last season.
He has started the current campaign strongly, earning Man of the Match honors in Getafe’s 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo with a goal and an assist.
The player’s rise has drawn attention from multiple European clubs, including Everton, Brentford, and Leeds United, but Wolves currently lead the pursuit.
Though Getafe have a release clause set at €25 million, reports suggest they may be open to offers around €20 million due to financial constraints.
If completed, the transfer would mark Uche’s first move to the Premier League and add to the growing number of Nigerian internationals making their mark in England’s top flight.
Uche has also been involved with Nigeria’s national team setups, earning recent call-ups ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Wolves aim to add creativity, physicality, and versatility to their squad, making Uche a valuable potential addition as the club seeks to improve its Premier League standing.
