The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
In a statement issued on Monday, the examination body directed candidates to check their results on its online portal at waecdirect.org using their examination numbers and result-checking PINs.
The announcement comes as the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) renews its call for the Federal Government to reconsider its stance on WASSCE as the primary secondary school leaving certificate.
Candidates can access their results either through the WAEC portal or via SMS by sending their details to shortcode 32327 at a cost of N30.
For online checking, candidates must enter their 10-digit WAEC examination number (7-digit center number followed by 3-digit candidate number), select the examination type, input their e-PIN voucher number and personal identification number.
The SMS option requires candidates to format their message as WAECExamNoPIN*ExamYear and send to 32327.
WAEC has not yet disclosed the overall performance statistics for this year’s examination.
Education stakeholders anticipate the results will spark fresh debates about Nigeria’s secondary education quality as the government continues its review of the basic education curriculum.
