The workers union of the Police Service Commission (PSC) has urged President Bola Tinubu to sack Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun over alleged misrepresentation and falsehood regarding the recent recruitment exercise.

The union, through its chairman, Adoyi Augustine Adoyi, accused the IGP of misleading the president and causing confusion in the country.

They claimed that the IGP’s actions were against the ethics of his profession and could lead to chaos.

The union’s call comes after the police rejected the recruitment exercise, citing corruption and irregularities, which the PSC union denies. The development has led to an impasse in the recruitment process, prompting the union to seek the IGP’s removal.

This development highlights the ongoing tensions between the PSC and the police leadership, with the union demanding transparency and accountability in the recruitment process.

The outcome of this situation remains to be seen, as the president’s decision will have implications for the police force and the country’s security landscape.
