
The Managing Director of Fouani Nigeria Limited, a prominent electronics distribution company, along with three Lebanese nationals, were abducted while traveling by boat in Lagos on Friday evening.
According to sources, the incident occurred near the Falomo Bridge as the group was en route from Apapa to Victoria Island. The captives, whose identities have not been officially disclosed, were taken by armed men who have since demanded a $1.5 million ransom for their release.
An anonymous source revealed to Punch Online: “The Managing Director of Fouani and three Lebanese were kidnapped around Falomo Bridge while traveling from Apapa to Victoria Island by boat. The kidnappers have asked for $1.5 million.”
Fouani Nigeria Limited is known for its representation of major brands such as LG, Hisense, Maxi, Huawei, and Jinko. The abduction has sent shockwaves through the business community, given the high-profile nature of the victims.
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the abduction. Speaking to Pulse Nigeria, Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated: “Yes, it is true. We got the report and we are looking into it. I’m not obliged to state more than that.”
When pressed for further details, Hundeyin declined to provide the names of the victims or specifics about the incident, emphasizing that investigations are ongoing.
