The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of HRH Mr. Emmanuel Omanji, the Sangarin Dari and a third-class traditional ruler in Kokona Local Government Area. The incident occurred at his residence on Wednesday night around 10 p.m.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Ramhan Nansel announced on Thursday, May 29, 2025, that the Commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, has deployed the command’s anti-kidnapping unit, alongside military personnel and local vigilantes, to carry out an intensive search and rescue mission. The operation aims to secure the safe release of the traditional ruler and apprehend the kidnappers.
Authorities have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could aid the rescue efforts, assuring confidentiality to informants. The identity and motives of the kidnappers remain unknown as investigations continue.
