A former National Security Adviser in Nigeria, Sambo Dasuki, has been re-arraigned before an Abuja High Court alongside three others over an alleged N33.2 billion fraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought a 32-count charge against Dasuki, former Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) General Manager, Aminu Baba-Kusa, as well as two companies—Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited. The charges include criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of public funds.

The case, previously handled by Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, was reassigned to Justice Charles Agbaza. Dasuki was first arraigned in 2015 on a N15.5 billion fraud case, and later in 2018, he was slammed with a fresh N33.2 billion charge. However, the trial suffered multiple delays, partly due to his prolonged detention by the Department of State Services (DSS) despite several court orders granting him bail.

At the resumed hearing, the defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges. The defense counsel requested that their clients continue on their existing bail, a request that was not opposed by the prosecution.

Justice Agbaza upheld the bail conditions and adjourned the trial to July 1, 2025.
