Nigerian tech entrepreneur, Dr. Ope Banwo, has achieved a groundbreaking feat in African entertainment with the release of “The OmegaMax Conspiracy”, the first fully AI-generated feature film from the continent. Accompanying it is “Omegapro Scandemic”, Africa’s first AI-produced soundtrack album.

Banwo, the founder of Aiflix360, described the project as a revolutionary step for Nollywood and African music.

AI Revolution in Film & Music

Unlike traditional films, The OmegaMax Conspiracy was produced without human actors, physical sets, or manual cinematography. AI handled scriptwriting, animation, dialogue voicing, and visual effects, making it a first-of-its-kind production in Africa. Similarly, Omegapro Scandemic was created without human composers, instrumentalists, or sound engineers, relying entirely on AI-generated music.

“This isn’t just an experiment; it’s proof that AI can be a game-changer for African filmmakers and musicians,” Banwo said. “With AI, we can produce high-quality content faster, cheaper, and with fewer barriers.”

The Story Behind The OmegaMax Conspiracy

Set for release in March 2025, the film is based on the true story of the global Omegapro Forex scam, a financial fraud that saw over 250,000 Nigerians and millions worldwide lose their investments in a deceptive forex trading scheme.

Banwo believes AI filmmaking will reshape Nollywood, eliminating the need for expensive film sets, large crews, and extensive post-production. Meanwhile, the AI-generated soundtrack challenges long-standing norms in Africa’s music industry.

“AI is a tool that amplifies human creativity, not replaces it,” he emphasized. “It allows African creators to dream bigger and break free from traditional constraints.”

With these pioneering projects, Dr. Banwo has positioned Nigeria at the forefront of AI’s impact on entertainment, sparking discussions on the future of African film and music.
