In a bid to resolve the ongoing leadership tussle in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda, and other lawmakers are holding a crucial meeting with leaders of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Attorney General, Lawal Pedro (SAN).
The meeting, which is taking place outside the Assembly chambers ahead of a scheduled plenary session, has heightened speculations that Meranda may step down as Speaker, paving the way for Obasa to formally reclaim his position.
Obasa arrived at the meeting around 1:30 pm, joining the lawmakers under a tent. However, reports indicate that he later separated from the main gathering alongside Meranda, APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, and the Attorney General for further deliberations.
The leadership crisis in the Lagos Assembly has been a subject of intense political debate, and this meeting is seen as a decisive step toward resolving the impasse.
