Renowned Nigerian music video director, ThankGod Omori Jesam, popularly known as TG Omori, has made a triumphant comeback to the entertainment scene with the release of Seyi Vibez’s latest music video, Shaolin.
Omori, who had been absent from the industry due to severe health complications, shared the video on his X (formerly Twitter) page on February 26, 2025, with the caption: “Glory be to God almighty who has heard my cry and given me the chance to touch the camera one more time.”
His return follows a tumultuous health battle that began in December 2023 when he suffered acute kidney failure after consuming counterfeit alcoholic beverages at nightclubs. The health crisis led to a kidney transplant at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, in August 2024, with his only brother selflessly donating a kidney. Unfortunately, the transplant was unsuccessful, leading to further medical challenges.
Despite these setbacks, Omori remained optimistic and promised a return to filmmaking in 2025. Staying true to his word, he has now re-emerged with Shaolin, a music video that encapsulates his signature cinematic style.
The video merges martial arts-inspired imagery with the raw energy of Nigeria’s streets, portraying themes of resilience, power, and street-wise spirituality. Omori’s storytelling prowess shines through in the visual narrative, reinforcing his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most innovative directors.
