An Oyo State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, identified as Lawal Rofiat Ewatomi, has been kidnapped while traveling to her place of primary assignment (PPA) in Ogbomosho.

According to reports, Ewatomi was abducted along the Benin-Ore Expressway while en route from Benin to Ibadan on Tuesday. A Facebook user, Agbakwara, who identified as her friend, raised the alarm about her disappearance, sharing details of the incident.

In a post, Agbakwara revealed that Ewatomi had managed to place a call before her phone went off, stating that she was inside a bus headed toward Ore when she was taken by unknown assailants.

The kidnappers have since demanded a ransom of N20 million for her release, leaving her family and friends in distress. Agbakwara further disclosed that the abducted corps member’s parents are financially incapable of meeting the ransom demand.

Efforts have been made to notify the NYSC secretariat in Ibadan, but there has reportedly been no response so far. In desperation, her friends and relatives are seeking financial assistance and calling on relevant authorities to intervene.
