Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, bringing it down from N890 to N825 per litre. The price adjustment, which takes effect on February 27, 2025, is aimed at providing relief to Nigerians as the Ramadan season approaches.
According to the company, the decision aligns with its commitment to easing the financial burden on consumers and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policies.
This marks the second petrol price reduction in February 2025, following an earlier N60 cut at the beginning of the month. In December 2024, the refinery had also reduced PMS prices by N70.50 per litre during the festive season to alleviate costs for Nigerians.
With the latest adjustment, the new pump prices at partner retail outlets will vary by region. MRS Holdings stations will sell petrol at N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 in the South-West, N880 in the North, and N890 in the South-South and South-East. Similarly, AP (Ardova Petroleum) and Heyden stations will offer petrol at N865 per litre in Lagos, N875 in the South-West, N885 in the North, and N895 in the South-South and South-East.
The company assured Nigerians of a steady supply of petroleum products, emphasizing that its reserves are sufficient to meet domestic demand while also supporting exports to boost foreign exchange earnings. Dangote Refinery urged petroleum marketers to cooperate in ensuring that the benefits of the price reduction reach consumers.
