Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized with pneumonia since February 14, remains in critical condition, the Vatican confirmed on Sunday. However, despite his fragile health, the 88-year-old pontiff is alert and well-oriented, with no further respiratory crises reported.

A statement from the Holy See Press Office noted that the Pope had a restful night and continues to receive medical care at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. This marks the longest hospitalization of his papacy, now extending into its 11th day.

On Sunday, the Pope participated in Holy Mass in a hospital apartment alongside the medical staff caring for him. His condition initially worsened due to bronchitis, and early diagnostic tests revealed a respiratory tract infection.

Francis reportedly experienced breathing difficulties during his engagements before being admitted to the hospital. While his condition remains serious, the Vatican has assured the public that he is stable and receiving the necessary medical attention.
