Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, has filed a N50 million defamation lawsuit against Abosede Aloba, the mother of late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. However, on September 21, 2023, authorities exhumed his body to conduct an autopsy as part of ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death.

In October 2024, Primeboy, who is also Mohbad’s friend publicly threatened legal action against Abosede over allegations that he had an altercation with Mohbad shortly before the singer’s passing.

According to a legal notice, the first page of which was shared on Instagram, Primeboy described Abosede’s comments as “libelous, injurious, and malicious.” He is demanding N50 million in exemplary damages for statements she allegedly made in a video interview on March 28, 2024, which was published by several media outlets.

“The sum of N50,000,000.00 (Fifty Million Naira only) being exemplary damages for libelous, injurious, falsehood and malicious statement made of and concerning the Claimant by the Defendant in a video interview made on the 28th of March, 2024 and published in several news media and online news outlets, designed to defame the Claimant in the eyes of right-thinking members of the society,” the letter reads in part.

The lawsuit further instructs Abosede to respond within 42 days or risk court proceedings being held in her absence.

“You are hereby commanded that within 42 (forty-two) days after the service of this Writ on you, inclusive of the day of such service, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you in an action at the suit of the Claimant,” the notice states.
