
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed former Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.
Moshood replaces Olanrewaju Ishola, who assumed the position late last year.
Confirming the appointment in a statement on Monday, PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani said, “The Police Service Commission today, Monday, 17th February 2025, approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command.”
Before this appointment, CP Jimoh Moshood was the Commissioner of Police at the Nigerian Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.
Originally from Kwara State, Jimoh Moshood previously served as the Force Public Relations Officer. He also held positions as Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Airport Police Command, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigation.
His professional training includes: Combat Operations Course at the Mobile Training College, Maiduguri; African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan; Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasure Training in the United States; Social Construction and Management Reform Training at the China Executive Leadership Academy, Pudong, China; Maritime Rescue and Salvage Training at the China Maritime Academy, Ningbo, China;Anti-Hijacking Techniques and Tactics Training at the Yunnan Police College, Kunming, China and Police Training at the Police Training Institute, Seoul, South Korea
CP Jimoh is also a recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations for his contributions to law enforcement communication.
The appointment was approved by PSC Chairman DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje (rtd), and Commissioner DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd).
