The United States Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of Presidents’ Day, the diplomatic mission announced on Sunday.

Presidents’ Day, celebrated annually on the third Monday of February, honors past and present U.S. leaders. The embassy stated that normal operations will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

“The U.S. Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of Presidents’ Day. We will resume normal operations on Tuesday, 18 February 2025,” the statement read.

The embassy and consulate will reopen as usual, attending to the needs of both Nigerians and Americans in the country.
