The National Assembly has passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill, approving a historic budget of ₦54.99 trillion to fund government operations for the fiscal year.

The bill, officially titled A Bill for an Act to Authorize the Issue from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation, was passed after extensive deliberations on its allocations, economic impact, and national priorities.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, while presenting the breakdown, noted that statutory transfers would amount to ₦3.65 trillion, while debt servicing would take ₦14.32 trillion. He added that recurrent non-debt expenditure is pegged at ₦13.06 trillion, with capital expenditure receiving ₦23.96 trillion.

The passage of the budget marks a critical step in ensuring the federal government has the necessary financial resources to execute its policies, fund key infrastructure projects, and sustain essential services in 2025.
