Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar and former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, are currently in a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Atiku arrived at Obasanjo’s residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library at exactly 12:37 p.m., accompanied by former Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, and other political figures from the northern region.
Upon arrival, Atiku and his entourage were received by elder statesman Otunba Oyewole Fasawe before proceeding upstairs for a private discussion with Obasanjo, who had been expecting them.
While the details of the meeting remain undisclosed at the time of filing this report, sources suggest it may be linked to Atiku’s potential 2027 presidential ambition, given the political stature of those involved.
This meeting comes amid growing discussions about the future of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and potential alliances ahead of the 2027 elections. Obasanjo, a former PDP leader, has played a key role in shaping political narratives in the past, making this gathering particularly noteworthy.
