Pastor William Kumuyi, General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, and Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, have been honored as the 2025 Irohinodua Yoruba Persons of the Year.

The editorial board of Irohin Odua, the first pan-Yoruba online news platform, announced the award in a statement on Saturday, recognizing the pastors for their exceptional contributions to faith and humanity.

According to the statement, signed by Feyisike Adeoye, Kumuyi and Adeboye have consistently promoted peace, love, and unity in a world plagued by violence and division. “While others have used religion to fuel hatred and political agendas, these two leaders have championed harmony and good neighborliness,” the statement read.

Despite facing criticism from opponents, both pastors have remained steadfast, responding with grace and godliness. The statement also highlighted their global influence, noting that although they do not hold political positions, they have the ability to engage world leaders.

Irohin Odua emphasized that the award, which has been presented for over a decade, is reserved for the most distinguished Yoruba personalities. Past recipients include Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, Dr. Adeniyan Abraham, and the Olu of Warri.
