The Nigerian Air Force, under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, launched a targeted airstrike on Boko Haram hideouts in Degbewa and Chikide, located in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attack, carried out around 8 PM on Tuesday, resulted in the deaths of numerous terrorists, including high-profile insurgents.

According to military sources, the airstrikes hit camps under the control of Ali Ngulde, a notorious Boko Haram commander. While the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed, several insurgents were neutralized, while others sustained injuries.

Efforts to get an official statement from the spokesperson for Operation Hadin Kai, Lt. Col Jingina, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls.

Meanwhile, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has condemned the surge in terrorist activities in his constituency. In a statement released in Kaduna on Wednesday, he decried the recent abduction of 22 people, mostly women and children, in Kauru Local Government Area.

The senator reaffirmed his commitment to protecting his constituents and urged security agencies to intensify efforts in securing lives and property. He also called on residents to collaborate with security forces by providing intelligence that could help in apprehending terrorists and their informants.

This development underscores the continued fight against insurgency in Nigeria, as security forces work to eliminate terrorist threats in the North-East and North-West regions.
