In a recent development, the Police Service Commission has unveiled a list of 10,000 successful candidates who have been selected for recruitment into the constable and specialist cadres of the Nigeria Police Force.

The announcement was made by the spokesperson for the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, in a statement released on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Ani highlighted the collaborative effort of various stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, the National Assembly, and the Federal Character Commission, in ensuring a transparent and just recruitment process.

He stated, “The Police Service Commission has approved and released the list of 10,000 successful applicants for recruitment into the constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force.”

The commission disclosed that out of the 10,000 successful applicants, 9,000 were selected for recruitment in the General Duty cadre, while 1,000 were chosen for the Specialists cadre. Emphasizing the importance of fairness, Ani mentioned, “To ensure fairness and justice in the recruitment process, the Commission worked closely with relevant stakeholders and ensured an equitable distribution of successful candidates across the 774 local government areas of the country.”

Prior to the announcement, the commission had established a Recruitment Board comprising representatives from various entities such as the PSC, NPF, Ministry of Police Affairs, Federal Character Commission, Police Colleges, and the Police Trust Fund to oversee the recruitment process meticulously.

Interested applicants were given a six-week window to complete their online applications, adhering to the Federal Character requirements from October 15, 2023, to November 26, 2023.

The PSC reported a substantial number of applications, with a total of 609,886 submissions received, out of which 416,323 applicants met the stipulated requirements.
