The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has announced its decision to relocate from Benin City to Abuja, effective from January 27, 2025.
A notice released on January 24, 2025, by the Tribunal Secretary, Mu’azu Bagudu, informed all parties involved in the case about the relocation, which will take place at the National Judicial Institute (NJI) on Airport Road, Abuja.
In the notice, Bagudu stated, “I am directed to notify all parties that the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City, Edo State, has been relocated to Abuja at the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Airport Road, Abuja, effective from Monday, 27th January, 2025.”
The notice did not specify the reasons for the move, and it is expected to take effect later this month.
