Two notorious bandit leaders, Abu Radde and Umar Black, have surrendered their arms and released over 15 kidnapped victims in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, Nigeria.

Security sources confirmed that the surrender, which took place on Sunday, was a result of intensified military operations by the combined forces of Operation FANSAN YANMA and other security agencies in the area.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from the military, traditional rulers, and religious leaders. During the ceremony, the bandit leaders handed over four AK-47 rifles and freed 15 captives—three males, eight females, and four children—who are now under the care of local authorities for rehabilitation.

A security official described the development as a significant breakthrough in the fight against banditry, marking a crucial step towards disarmament and the eventual release of all kidnapped victims in the region.

The surrendered arms have been secured by the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Katsina to prevent further use in criminal activities. Authorities hope this move signals progress towards restoring peace and stability in the region.
