Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has disclosed that his life took a positive turn after his son’s untimely demise.

In an interview with media personality Akin Abolade, also known as MrLilGaga, Aloba attributed the improvement in his life to the intervention of Mohbad’s spirit and divine assistance.

“Let me just say yes, my life got better after Mohbad’s death because he is my friend. He had plans to do many things for me, but they didn’t allow him to fulfill them. After his death, it was his spirit and God that began to send people to assist me. Even the car and everything I have now were given to me by people, and it is beyond ordinary,” Aloba stated.

He further alleged that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and her family took possession of the singer’s landed properties, including a plot Mohbad had purchased for him to build a church. According to Aloba, the land was ultimately used for Mohbad’s burial.

“Two weeks before his death, he showed me a house he wanted to buy after his tour, which I knew he had fully paid for,” he added.

Aloba, who is a carpenter, singer, and pastor, revealed that his son had promised to build him a church. He also noted that Mohbad began backing him as a singer at just one year old, following an incident where money from the singer’s naming ceremony was stolen.

Since Mohbad’s death, Aloba said he has received support from Nigerians, which allowed him to establish a block-making business and acquire vehicles, including a truck and a Toyota Highlander. He also revealed that he has released nine songs in tribute to his son.

The rising singer, Mohbad, passed away in Lagos on September 11, 2023, at the age of 26. His death remains controversial, with investigations uncovering alleged malpractice by an unlicensed nurse who administered a vaccine to him before his demise.

Mohbad’s legacy continues to stir public conversations about his life, death, and the controversies surrounding his estate.
