An Oyo State High Court in Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, has granted bail to Olori Naomi Silekunola, Alhaji Oriyomi Hazmat, and Abdulahi Fasasi.
The ruling, delivered on Monday, January 13, 2025 by Justice K.B. Olawoyin of Court 8, follows a bail application filed by their legal representatives.
The court had previously reserved the ruling after hearing arguments on January 7.
Justice Olawoyin granted bail under stringent conditions, which include a bond of N10 million and two sureties who must submit proof of ownership of landed property within the court’s jurisdiction. Additionally, the defendants are required to surrender their international passports to the court and are prohibited from granting interviews for the duration of the case.
The trial stems from an alleged involvement in a stampede incident, which has attracted significant public attention.
Further developments are expected as the case progresses.
