In a major offensive against criminal elements in Zamfara State, Nigeria, troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, have neutralized over 25 terrorists and injured 18 others during Operation Fansan Yamma. The operation, which targeted terrorist hideouts in the Fakai area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, also led to the rescue of seven kidnapped victims.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for the operation.
“Some of the camps cleared include those of notorious terrorist leaders Bello Turji and Mallam Ila. Over 25 terrorists were neutralized, and 18 others sustained gunshot wounds, thereby delivering a significant setback to their network,” Abdullahi said.
The operation, supported by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, dismantled multiple terrorist camps and disrupted their operations.
Lt. Col. Abdullahi further assured the public of the military’s commitment to restoring peace in affected communities and urged terrorist kingpins to surrender unconditionally.
